Today is day 41 in the hospital.  The doctor planned on Sarah discharging today, but her blood pressure is still high and her swelling is still severe too, so they are going to keep her and decide if they need to give her IV Lasix, which would mean starting another IV.  I feel bad because this pregnancy has been very hard on Sarah both physically and emotionally.  Now it is the waiting game to see if her body starts to get rid of all the extra fluid by itself.  Sarah's parents came up to see us in the morning and brought Sarah a bagel from Sunrise Bagels.  My Mom and Dad brought us dinner from home after they dropped off Hayden at Bob and Nancy's (they will keep Hayden until Monday night).  It was awesome because it was actually a home cooked meal for once.  Thanks Mom and Dad.  My Mom and Dad got to watch an entire feeding from start to finish.  They got to see how long it takes.  By the time we get totally done, we have about an hour break before the next one.  All 3 babies ate 8 ml each at the 11 PM feeding when nursing from Sarah.  They can tell this because they weigh each baby right before and right after breastfeeding.  They are slowly, but surely, learning how to suck.  They take about 1/3 of their feedings by bottle, then the rest through their feeding tubes.  Their feeding schedule for the day consists of rotating every other feeding with either breastfeeding or bottle, then gavage (feeding tube).  They tire out too easily to try to have them suck every feeding, so we give them a break after each time they bottle or breast feed.  Also, their current weights are:
Hunter 5 lb 3.4 oz
Hadley 4 lb 7.8 oz
Holden 4 lb 12.1 oz

Thanks for all your prayers, keep them coming!

Saturday, February 26, 2011, also Day 40 in the hospital for Sarah
Today was another day in which we woke up bright and early to go feed, change diapers, and just stare at our triplets.  We also finalized their full names.  They are:
Hunter Douglas Lulay
Hadley Anne Lulay
Holden Bradford Lulay
The middle name Douglas is after my dad's first name, the middle name Anne is Sarah's middle name, and the middle name Bradford is Sarah's maiden name, which ended with Bob because he was the only boy and he had only 2 girls.  Now, Holden is going to carry on the Bradford name for another generation.
My Mom and Dad and my Grandma Darlene and Grandpa Don came up and brought us my Grandma and Grandpa's trailer so we have a place to stay when Sarah is released so we can be here with our trio.  This was so nice of them.  They have free spots here where we can park the trailer with full hook ups too.  Sarah's parents, Bob and Nancy also came up to visit.  Then, Katie and Kyle and Olivia came up.  Our day of visitors ended with Sue, Jessica, Riley, Chase, and Carson.  This was very nice to see our family and friends.  All 3 triplets are starting to breast-feed more and drink half their bottles sometimes too!  Then, about every other feeding we give them their feedings through their NG tubes.  We had an awesome nurse, Heather, today for the babies.  She let us do whatever we wanted to do as far as the feedings.  This is nice because at times some nurses want to keep right on a tight schedule.  Dr. Pandipati decided to keep Sarah another day due to her severe swelling and her low urine output.  He also came to the NICU so we could visit and get pictures!  He told us that Sarah did faint during the c-section because Holden was so high up in Sarah's uterus that he had a hard time getting to him.  He actually delivered him feet first, which was very safe to do, but this also created a vagal response, so her blood pressure dropped suddenly.  The current weights of the babies are:
Hunter: 5 lb 2.6 oz (up 20 grams)
Hadley: 4 lb 6.2 oz (up 5 grams)
Holden: 4 lb 11.2 oz (up 10 grams)
We celebrated because this was the first time they gained some weight!  We are being told by all the nurses and doctors how lucky we are and that we truly overcame the odds to have our triplets safe, healthy, and happy.  This brings tears to our eyes whenever we hear or even see our triplets.

Dr. Pandipati (the best doctor ever) with Hunter.
We were so blessed to have such an awesome doctor!
He helped us get through this tough pregnancy and he
is someone we will never forget and don't know how to thank
him enough!  He truly is a life saver!

Hadley (you can definitely tell she is the girl)
Holden (notice how he is yawning?  Dr. Pandipati
said this was perfect because he was the one that was
highest and last to deliver and was just hanging out in no
hurry to deliver)

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.  We are blessed and thankful for our 3 little angels!

So far this has been an emotional rollercoaster because we are so thankful that are triplets are healthy and happy!  Last night they all got their first baths!  They stopped their oxygen monitoring already, so they are getting stronger!  Now they are just feeding and growing.  Today we had a visitor, Britt, (another triplet mom that has cute 3 year olds).  She has been Sarah's rock and inspiration lately.  She is an amazing person and we love visiting with her and learning from her suggestions.  She even helped us write out a daily log that we will use when we get home!  Today the lactation nurse met with Sarah at 11 AM (and will be every day).  After Britt left, we listened to her suggestion and Sarah tandem nursed (nursed 2 at the same time) Holden and Hadley for 10 minutes!  Then, Hunter nursed for 20 minutes.  We decided that Hunter likes breast feeding instead of bottle because he sucked the most ever today!  Whenever we just sit there and stare at our 3 angels, it brings tears to our eyes to know how blessed we are and know that God and all our angels in heaven definitely are watching over us.  Now, we are just feeding them every 3 hours.  By the time we are done, we have about an hour or so break in between!  Then, Sarah is pumping every 3 hours as well.  We are getting through this sleep deprivation by knowing how good it is for our babies to have us hold them and feed them.  We will post pictures when we have time.  To top all this off, Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Dough took Hayden to the pediatrician today and he has a sinus infection, so he is now taking antibiotics and getting breathing treatments.  This is very hard because he cannot come up here until he is better :(  Thanks again for all your prayers!

With Love,
Casey

February 24, 2011

Last night Sarah and I were able to see our babies for the first time together!  It was an overwhelming experience and our emotions were flowing!  It was absolutely amazing to see Sarah hold them!  I got to do skin to skin (kangaroo care) with the 2 boys while Sarah did with Hadley.  It was so amazing to hold my 2 new sons at the same time!  Sarah got to shower this morning for the first time, but her pain is very intense.  Her blood work just came back and her platelets are back to the normal range (150,000)!  This means she does not have the HELLP syndrome (a complication of preeclampsia)!  We are about to head down for another feeding and first baths.  Sarah is going to walk some of the way, then I will push her the rest of the way in the wheelchair.  It was nice to see Eric and his mom today, they got to meet our trio!  Then, Grandma Cindy, Creed, and Ashley came up and I went to Red Robin with them and then brought Sarah back a milkshake.  Thanks again for all your prayers!

The first night went by very fast and good.  All 3 babies are in their own separate room.  Hunter and Holden will eat for a little bit and then get the rest through their NG tubes.  Hadley ate her entire feeding with the bottle again!  Sarah is in lots of pain and her BP is still very high.  Our trio got to be moved into the same crib without warmers this morning!  I have been able to feed them and change diapers, while Sarah is busy pumping to get her milk in more.  It was nice to have Grandpa Doug, Grandma Cindy, Katie and Olivia, Ashley, Grandpa Bob, Grandma Nancy, Val, Nicole, Chad, and Emma come see us today!  Brooke was able to come see them too since her trio is down the hall.  Here are some pictures...

Our three little babies all together for the first time!

Welcome Hunter, Hadley, and Holden

What a day!  Today I was at work and Sarah called me at 1:50 PM in a panic to come up asap b/c her protein level from her 24 hour urine test (which indicates how severe her preeclampsia is) was 3 times the dangerous limit!  I rushed out the door and had to get gas because I was buried on "E."  I stopped at Fred Meyers on Market Street and it took forever, so I went and found a worker in his booth and told him it was an emergency so I needed help!  I got to St. Vincent's at around 3 PM.  I rushed into the hospital and went to Sarah's room where Dr. P was waiting and Sarah was already in her wheelchair.  I gave her a quick kiss and started changing into my OR attire.  I then met Sarah in the OR where she was all prepped and ready.  During her C Section her BP dropped to 60/30 and she passed out.  This was right after Baby B was born.  I was horrified and scared since I know this is very very low!  Hunter was born at 3:33 PM and 5 lb 7 oz and 18 1/2 inches with apgar of 7/9, Hadley born at 3:35 PM and 4 lb 14 oz and 17 3/4 inches with apgar of 8/9, and finally Holden at 3:38 PM and 5 lb 1 oz and 18 3/4 inches with apgar of 8/8. Hunter has blonde hair and Hadley and Holden have brown.  They are all doing great and everyone is amazed how big they are for being 34 weeks!  The neonatologist and our perinatologist told me to tell Sarah how awesome she did growing our trio :)  Sarah is doing ok, she is on iv magnesium for 24 hrs and can't go to the NICU until tomorrow night, so I am going every 3 hours to feed the babies! This is a surreal feeling and I am so thankful that everyone is healthy at this point.  Hayden got to come and see Sarah and me, but not the trio yet.  He was in a great mood (we think he knows how much fun he is going to have with his 2 brothers and sister).  They were in the level III NICU until about midnight and then just all moved to level II and when I left Hunter and Hadley were co-sleeping and they are going to see if they can put Holden in with them.  Hadley ate about 25 ml from a bottle tonight and both boys ate about 5 ml.  They all have NG feeding tubes in so when they tire out, they can give the rest of the feedings through this.  Grandma Cindy, Grandpa Doug, Grandma Nancy, Grandpa Bob, Great-Grandma Gescher, Val, and Hayden come up tonight!  Thanks to all of you, our prayers were answered!

Day 34.  This morning my blood pressure was in the 140's and the babies passed their non-stress test with many accelerations and past within 20 minutes.  Dr. T came in this morning to do his rounds and told us that everything is continuing to look good and they will let me go to 36 weeks unless my blood pressure spiked or my lab's come back abnormal.  If I make it to 36 weeks and everything looks good they will let me go to the first day of my 37 weeks.  This is very exciting to us because the longer our babies stay in utero the healthier they are, which means the less time they have to be in the NICU.
Doug and Cindy brought Hayden up to see Casey and I this morning.  He came in so happy just smiling from ear to ear.  I love it.  Cindy and Casey went to get us lunch at Panera (yummy).  It was nice to visit with them and see our sweet little man.
Casey and I vegged out this afternoon and watched a movie, it was really nice.  The babies passed their non-stress test tonight in 20 minutes it was great.
                                                     Hayden's a little monkey!
Hayden loves playing with "Chuck" the truck when he's visiting mommy!

February 19, 2011

Day 33.  Today was a day of surprise visitors! That’s always very fun, I think.  Casey surprised me and came up early afternoon and will stay through Monday.  Then my parents came early evening and stayed and visited for a few hours, that was really nice.
My blood pressure is still slowly creeping up, but staying away from the dangerous range.  The babies continue to pass their non-stress with flying colors which impresses the Dr.'s and makes me feel very good.  I have lots of swelling and it is getting more and more in my feet, face and hands.  But that comes with pregnancy and preeclampsia.

Information on Required TDAP shot

We talked with our doctor and it is strongly recommended/required for anyone coming to see the triplets or help with them to have their TDAP shot (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis) because there are outbreaks of whooping cough this year.  Whooping cough is deadly to preemies, so please get it before you come to see the triplets. It is good for 10 years once you get it.  Here is a link from the CDC on it:
http://www.cdc.gov/features/pertussis/
You can get it for free at the Marion County Health Department and their contact info is:
www.co.marion.or.us - 3180 Center St NE # 2100, Salem, OR - (503) 588-5357
Just tell them that you are going to be around our triplets and they will be preemies.
We do not want our triplets to get this horrible illness.  My sister Ashley had whooping cough and was in Doernbecher's Children's Hospital for almost 2 months and almost died when she was born 23 years ago.

Thanks,
Casey

Day 32.  Casey woke up this morning and got us bagels from our favorite little bagel shop right down the block.  Such a sweetheart.  Our sweet little girl didn't want to be found this morning with the monitor.  The boys were found and stayed on right away but little miss took us almost 45 minutes to get her to stay on the monitor.  They all passed just fine but mommies back wasn't feeling so good.  Oh well, it is totally worth it.
Cindy, Grandma Darlene, Hayden, Katie and Olivia came up this morning for our second ultrasound.  The ultrasound went well; they are definitely more squished and have gotten much bigger from our last ultrasound 3 weeks ago.  Baby A's estimated weight is 5lb 7oz and he's in the 85% for a singleton.  Baby B's estimated weight is 5lbs and she's in the 71% for a singleton.  Baby C's estimated weight is 4lb 14oz and he's in the 65% for a singleton.  I was blown away with their weights, it made me very happy.  I was feeling nauseous and had a headache again today so Dr. T had my blood taken and it all came back good/normal, good news.  So, I will continue to grow our babies a little longer, thank goodness!
Hayden and Casey stayed for the afternoon while everyone had to go home.  Hayden and I got some cuddle time and Hayden took a 3 hour nap in my bedJ  So awesome.  Today was a great day!

Hayden loves holding his baby cousin Olivia
I officially have cankles and very swollen feet.  Ouch!

February 17, 2011

Day 31.  It is crazy to think I have been here for a month.  At times it feels like it has just flown by and others it feels like I been here for a lifetime.  My blood pressure is down into the high 140's and my swelling isn't too bad today.  A low key day today.
Casey came up after work tonight to stay with me and that was really nice.  The babies were a little harder to find tonight when we did the monitoring, I couldn't believe how low they were hiding.  But once they were on they all passed their non-stress tests within 20 minutes. Wahoo!

February 16, 2011

Day 30.  Well today was a crazy day!  Last night I was up most of the night with nausea, and a headache with spots in my vision.  My blood pressure was high. These are all signs of preeclampsia progressing.  So, the doctor ordered a STAT blood test to see if the preeclampsia has progressed enough to affect my blood test results.  He told me if the tests comeback different than they did last week we will have to deliver the babies.  While we were waiting for the results I called Casey to tell him what was going on and he was waiting to find out if he needed to rush up here or not.  My results came back normal so we are ok at this point.  So, they are keeping a close eye on me and will do some more tests on Monday for the preeclampsia and a growth ultrasound on Friday to see how the babies are looking and growing.  So in the mean time we are just praying that we can keep the babies growing for another week or two before we get to meet our trio!

February 15, 2011

Here are some fun facts I wanted to share just to show you how awesome Sarah has done for our triplet pregnancy so far:

1.  If you're carrying triplets, there's a 40 percent chance that one or more will miscarry in the first half of pregnancy. Sarah overcame this horrible statistic and has succeeded!   http://www.babycenter.com/0_pregnant-with-multiples-potential-complications_3584.bc?page=2

2.  On average, most triplet pregnancies last 32 weeks.  Once again, Sarah has made it past the average of 32 weeks!  http://www.marchofdimes.com/pregnancy/trying_multiples.html

Thanks for all the support, Sarah is amazing and is the best mom and wife I could ever ask for!

February 15, 2011

Day 29.  Everything is staying stable at this point.  The babies are continuing to pass their non-stress tests with no problems.  Sometimes they like to twist and turn when the monitor is on so the nurse has to chase them down and hope they sit still so we can get a good reading.  They just like to play!
My mom brought Hayden up today to see Casey and I, what a great visit.  I always look forward to seeing my sweet little man.  We played for hours, he is used to my room now and its not so scary anymore.  Father John stopped by today to visit and gave me and the babies a blessing and visited with Casey and I.  That was so nice to have him here.  Casey took Hayden home and my mom stayed with me here tonight.  It is so nice having someone here at night.
Giving his brothers and sisters loves! Such a sweet big brother!
Father John came to visit us! I'm very swollen (as you can tell).
Hayden making sure mommy's belly has enough lotion on it so it doesn't hurt!
Hayden thinking about hiting mommy's belly (it sounds so cool)!

Day 28.  Happy Valentines Day!  Today is 33weeks!!! This is another big milestone for us.  My blood pressure is a little high today, it is sneaking up to the 150's.  My swelling is still there and is coming and going.
Casey is coming up tonight after work, talk about a perfect Valentine's gift.  He surprised me when he got here with a beautiful dozen roses and balloons. So sweet!
My beautiful Valentine's gift from my sweet Valentine!

February 13, 2011

Day 27.  Today is going to be a busy day I am so excited.  Doug, Cindy, Hayden, Katie, Olivia, Grandpa Lulay and Grandma Lulay are all coming up this morning.  It was really nice seeing all of them today.  Hayden made my day by cuddling up with me on my bed and taking a 2 and 1/2 hour nap.  Nothing better than that.  Thanks to Doug and Cindy I didn't have to eat hospital food today! So wonderful.
Physical therapy came in today and showed me some exercises to help keep the blood flow circulating and to help stretch out my back and hips.  It's amazing how weak your body gets after a month of bed rest.  My blood pressure is staying about the same for the time being.
Hayden holding his sweet little cousin Olivia in mommy's room.

February 12, 2011

Day 26.  Today my swelling got worse and my blood pressure didn't want to go down.  Crazy stuff!  My Dr. was on call today wahoo.  He wasn't concerned at all about my swelling or blood pressure, he thought I am still doing great.  So reassuring.  He is confident that I will make it to at least 34 weeks and hopefully 1 to 2 weeks after that.  He really helps bring my spirits up and makes me proud of how far we have come.
My parents came up this evening to visit and eat dinner with me.  Always nice to see them and visit.
Our little trio did awesome tonight with their non-stress test, they all stayed on, no one tried to run away from the monitor and everyone passed in 20 minutes.  Good job!

February 11, 2011

Day 25.  One of the triplet mom's in our group gave us her triplet jogging stroller, such an amazing person she is.  Casey was off to get that and a shelf for the triplet's room.  There is always something to do!  Hayden's coming up this evening, I cannot wait.  Cindy and Ashley brought Hayden up to see me, he had so much fun.  He loves the nurses that play with him.  He was really excited when my nurse took him for a walk in the hallwayJ
Everyone headed home, Casey has to workL  Unfortunately, the bills still have to be paid!  On a side note: Happy Birthday Amy!
My blood pressure is higher than it has been in a while and I am starting to feel pretty crappy.  All the lovely signs of preeclampsia.  But, everything is still staying stable so hopefully, we can make it another week or two until we welcome our trio!  My Dr. is back tomorrow and that makes me happy.  It's always nice to hear his feedback.
                                          Hayden say's "Hi Momma"
                                          Daddy and Hayden being silly!
We have fun toys up here for Hayden to play with!

February 10, 2011

Day 24.  The morning's here seem to go pretty fast because there is many things we have to do.  That’s always nice!  The babies all passed their non stress in the minimum time this morning, thank goodness.  Lying on my back for an hour or more while they monitor can be painful.  My blood pressure is ok this morning still trying to slowly creep up.
Casey's coming up this evening to stay with me.  I always look forward to him staying with me.

February 9, 2011

Day 23.  I didn't have any visitors today, but it went by a lot faster than I thought it would.  Everything checked out great this morning even my blood pressure was good.
We had quite the commotion here this evening.  A car caught on fire in the parking structure here, so the fire department came and it was quite the commotion.  Everyone was ok, no one was hurt, but someone's car didn't make it out so wellL
Baby B didn't want to stay on the monitor tonight, she had a mind of her own and didn't want that monitor on her.  But after an hour and a half she cooperated and they all passed the non-stress test with flying colors!

February 8, 2011

Day 22.  Everything went well this morning.  My blood pressure is trying to increase slowly, I keep swelling but the babies passed their non-stress easily this morning.
My mom and Hayden came up this afternoon and stayed for a few hours.  It was great to spend time with both of them.  Every time I see him and get to give him kisses makes me so happy and makes me so excited to be home with all 6 of us!
Cindy and Val came by tonight and brought me red robin for dinner!  So yummy!  It was very nice to visit with them.  Val got to see me get monitored and see all three monitors and the contraction monitor strapped to my belly!  I had to stay on for two hours tonight because baby C took a while to pass his non-stress test.  But once he did they all looked great.

February 7, 2011

Day 21. Week 32 wahoo!!! This is a big milestone for us!  Casey and Hayden came up today to visit and brought me beautiful flowers, a balloon and an ice cream cone for making it to 32 weeks.  I have a wonderful family; my boys treat me very well!  Hayden took a nap with me, so amazing to be able to cuddle with my sweet little man again.  Such an amazing feeling!  Casey has a busy week at work this week so he got a nice nap in also!
The Dr. said I am still staying stable and the babies are looking great on their non-stress tests.  My blood pressure is still fluctuating and I have lots of swelling but the Dr.'s say I am doing good and things are stable for now.
Daddy and Hayden brought me beautiful flowers today for making it to 32 weeks! My boys are so great to me!

February 6, 2011

Day 20.  Casey stayed last night, always so nice to have him here with me.  Just a layed back day, nothing exciting.  Casey took off and went home so he could meet his parents and Hayden at Casey's aunt and uncle's house to watch the super bowl. Go Green Bay!
The Dr. didn't have much to say today, I am staying stable for now which is good.  I am starting to swell pretty good, so the Dr.'s are keeping an eye on that. Swelling isn't fun by any means, but totally worth it to keep those babies in utero a little longer!

February 5, 2011

Day 19.  Just another morning at the hospital, doing my normal morning routine.  Get up eat breakfast, get vitals (hope my blood pressure is good), and hear our wonderful triplets on the monitors with their morning non-stress test.  All things checking out good today!  Always a good day when the Dr. comes in and tells me that everything looks good and we are staying stable.
Casey came up this afternoon to stay with me tonight.  I always look forward to these days!  Doug and Cindy brought Hayden up this evening to visit and eat with us.  It is so nice to be able to see Hayden everyday or every other day again.  Being able to see Hayden just about everyday sure helped my motivation for being here.  Casey's motivating speeches every time he comes up here helps me look at the light at the end of the tunnel.  Growing those babies and praying for 35 or 36 weeks!
Hayden giving his brothers and sister loves!
Hayden's putting lotion on mommy's belly to make it feel better!

February 4, 2011

Day 18.  Today was definitely the best day so far since I've been on bed rest in the hospital.  I got to see Hayden this afternoon for the first time in a week and a half.  Oh my goodness I cannot even put into words how excited I was to see my sweet little man!  He was so excited he ran around and had to show mommy all his new toys and of course jump up on my bed and give mommy and his little bothers and sister a kiss.  Of course we had to give mommy's belly a few whacks with his hand because it sounds funny, not to mention it's stretched out to a size I never thought skin could stretch to.  But, the bigger my belly gets the more those babies are growing.  Wahoo!  Our bodies are amazing!
Casey, Cindy and Grandma Darlene brought Hayden up in the early afternoon, so I got to see Hayden and visit with my family all afternoon and evening...so great.  Then, Doug, Grandpa Don, Ashley and Jacob came to eat pizza (thanks to dominos who deliver) and then the boys headed to the Rose Garden to see the PBR rodeo.  Grandpa Don won tickets at Wilco, and took Doug, Casey and Jacob..so much fun!  To end my amazing day Hayden cuddled with before he fell asleep, such an amazing feelingJ
My friend Mindi and her cousin Leah came and visited me this morning while they were on their "day without kids" shopping afternoon!  So nice to catch up and visit.  Again we are so blessed with amazing friends and family.
I got another good report from the Dr. today.  Blood pressure is coming back down. Wahoo! Our babies passed both their non-stress tests today with no problem.

February 3, 2011

Day 17.  I had a lot of visitors today! So nice!  My friend Stephanie came this morning and we got to catch up and visit, then one of the mom's from our triplet group stopped by.  Talk about encouragement and motivation!  That was great!  Then this evening my parents came and brought me dinner.  It was nice to just have them here!
My blood work came back good today and my blood pressures were just slightly elevated but not concerning.  The Dr. was happy with the way things are going today when he came in.
Tonight was one of my most emotional nights; I just miss Hayden so very much it's just tearing me apart.  Casey and his family are going to bring him up tomorrow!  I just can't wait.  Even though I know he's going to be here tomorrow I still cannot stop the tears.  Hormones I'm sure contribute the flood of tears!

February 2, 2011

Day 16.  My blood pressure was down this morning and this afternoon but decided to get higher tonightL  It is fluctuating like crazy.  The Dr. came by while she was doing rounds and she was confident that I can make it to at least 34 weeks.  That would be awesome for the babies!!!
Casey is quite the errands king lately!  He ran down and exchanged some things for the babies for me and brought me back pizza!  So sweet, you can only have hospital food for so long.  Foods good but not a big selection!  We had a nice day together.
Tonight Brooke and her husband Ben stopped by last night before they went to see their adorable identical triplet boys in the NICU.  It was so sweet of them to stop by, they have a lot on their plates right know.  But, it was so reassuring talking to someone that just went through the birth and start of NICU just about 2 weeks ago!
Technology is amazing!  I haven't been able to see Hayden for a week because he's been so sick, so I got to talk to him on Skype.  It was so cool, he didn't really know what to think of it, but it was awesome being able to see him!

February 1, 2011

Day 15.  Babies are having a very active day today.  They are moving like crazy, baby C is very high and likes to hide out around or under my ribs! Ouch!!!  I got a wonderful surprise today.  Katie, Olivia, Katie and Emma came to visit me today!  It was so great to see them.  Baby Olivia is getting so big and looking around and smiling, so cute.  Emma is into everything and so much fun to watch.  I am so blessed with a great familyJ
Casey took Hayden to his follow-up Dr.'s appt today.  She said he was doing ok but would like to give him another dose of steroids for his cough and put him on antibiotics 2x daily because he is getting a sinus infection on top of everything else.  Poor baby!  I cannot wait to see him; his Dr. said he could come up on Friday!  I cannot wait!  Casey came up and stayed with me today, so nice to have him here!

January 31, 2011

Today I am 31 weeks pregnant.  It's day 14 in the hospital.
Blood pressures still fluctuating, babies are checking out great still with the twice daily non-stress tests.  Things are staying stable at this point.

January 30, 2011

Day 13.  Yesterday afternoon Hayden took a good nap at the hospital and didn't require oxygen.  So, the Dr. discharged him yesterday afternoon so he could go home.  Oh my goodness was he happy to be home!
My mom and dad came up this morning to visit and brought me a doughnut and breakfast! Yum!  It was nice to visit with them.
Casey stayed home and started to unpack gifts from the baby shower and organize the triplet's nursery.  Cindy helped Casey all day today so they got a ton done.  So sweet!

Day 12.  Casey called me this morning and Hayden required oxygen last night while sleeping so he isn't able to go home this morningL  She said that if he takes a good nap this afternoon and didn't require oxygen while sleeping that she will discharge him this afternoon.  Today was also Great-Grandma Gescher's funeral (Hayden's Great-Great Grandma).  After the funeral, Casey headed back to see Hayden.  Hayden got to discharge at 3 PM!  He was supposed to get albuterol neb treatments every 4 hours as needed.

Day 11 in the hospital.  Wow!  Today was a test of strength and emotion!  So this morning Casey and I got a call from Grandma Cindy saying that Hayden was struggling to breathe and sucking in his ribs when breathing, kind of like he did a few months ago when he was diagnosed with bronchiolitis.  Grandma Cindy called Hayden's Dr. office and they listened to his breathing over the phone and said to take him to the ER right away.  Casey left here quickly and met his mom and sister at the ER in Salem with Hayden.  I was freaking out here feeling completely worthless since I was stuck and couldn't be there.  They put Hayden on oxygen since his level was low and gave him a breathing treatment, a steroid and epi in the breathing treatment since his upper airway sounded croupy.  They ordered a chest x-ray and were going to admit him into the hospital overnight for observation since his oxygen level was fluctuating between above 90 (normal) and 88 (needing oxygen).  In the mean time my mom and Casey headed up here to see me and they were planning an ultrasound and biophysical profile on the triplets this afternoon.  Casey got here just in the nick of time and the ultrasound tech was waiting for Casey, which was nice of her!  Geez, talk about Casey feeling torn between his wife and child.  Hayden was with Grandma Cindy so we knew he was in good hands!  So, good news for the day…the babies passed their biophysical profiles with flying colors and we found out that all three babies were very healthy and were measuring big for triplets.  Baby A (Boy) estimated current weight was 4lb 6oz and above the 90% for a singleton pregnancy.  Baby B (Girl) estimated current weight was 3lb 7oz 68% and baby C (Boy) estimated current weight was 3 lb 5oz 59%.  So we were so very excited that our babies were growing so well.  My mom headed back to town to be with Hayden so Cindy could go to her grandmother's rosary.  Casey waited for the Dr. to come…the Dr. said everything looked great and no problems at this current time.  So, Casey headed back home to be with Hayden at the hospital.  Crazy day!  We are waiting to here from the pediatrician and see why Hayden has been having a hard time breathing since his last bronchiolitis episode in December.
The Dr. came in to Hayden's room this evening and said that he had croup and mild bronchiolitis.  She doesn't think that he ever completely recouped from his first episode in December.  Dr. said if he doesn't require oxygen over night he will be able to come home in the morning!
