Day 10 in the hospital.  Casey and I got a phone call from Grandma Cindy this morning that Hayden had a cold and wasn't feeling very good.  It's so hard being away from your baby when he is sickL  The Dr. gave me and the babies a good report again and scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow to check the baby's weight, placentas, amniotic fluid and biophysical profiles.  Creed and Ashley came up tonight and had pizza with us; it was so nice to eat something other than hospital food!  So, we had a nice visit with them!

Day 9 in the hospital.  Happy Birthday Dad (Grandpa Bob)!  My mom is bringing Hayden up to see me today; I didn't get to see him yesterday so I am so excited to see him.  The babies and I checked out good this morning again.  Yesterday, the Dr. talked about possibly letting me go home on bedrest, but this morning decided that I needed to stay here until the babies are born.  Oh well, I know I am in good hands here!  So, Hayden got to sit up on my bed with me and we got to cuddle and play for a few hours and it was wonderful.  They went home to take Grandpa Bob to dinner for his birthday and Casey came up after work.  It was nice to see him after a couple days of not.

Day 8 in the hospital.  Today I have a few visitors coming, I cannot wait.  They are still doing the non-stress tests on the babies 2x daily.  Babies are looking great!  Dr. said that the babies and I are doing great.  So, Tamara came up today and brought some beautiful things for the babies and visited with me for a couple hours.  It was great.  Eric and his mom also came and visited me today.  It was so nice to catch up!

Day 7 in the hospital.  Today I am 30 weeks pregnant!  Wahoo!  Casey took Hayden home last night so they could sleep at our house.  Casey, Ashley and Hayden came up to see me today for the afternoon.  What a wonderful treat for me.  This whole bedrest in the hospital is such a great thing for the triplets but so hard on mommy, daddy and Hayden.  We are getting through it daily and so thankful that our parents are helping us so much with Hayden so Casey can spend time up here with me.  The Dr.'s report was good again today, just staying stable!  Good stuff!

Day 6 in the hospital.  Today is my baby shower!  The Dr. said I could be wheeled down to the party room and sit in the hospital bed in that room!  Doug and Cindy had Hayden last night and he is going to come up today with them.  I cannot wait to see my little man.  We had a very nice turn out for the shower.  We just have so many loving friends and family that came all the way up here to be with me during my shower.  We got so many wonderful things for the triplets and a few gifts for big brother Hayden.  Thank you all so very much.  We are so very blessed.

Day 5 in the hospital.  Today its just Casey and I up here taking it easy and resting.  The Dr. said that I am staying stable still with my blood pressures and preeclampsia.  So, good news!

January 21, 2011

Day 4 in the hospital.  The Dr. came in today and said that everything is staying stable and blood pressures are going down.  I had a ton of visitors today! (wahoo)  My mom came up this morning to visit and brought me some goodies.  Kelly, a mom from our triplet group brought her son (a triplet who is 10 months old) up to visit today.  It was so nice visiting with her and hearing how exciting life is with triplets and how much fun they are..hard work but totally worth it!  Jessica and Liz brought me some movies and goodies and visited for a while.  Drew, Jenn and Krew came and brought the triplets a gift and visited for a while with us.  Casey, Hayden and Grandma Cindy came up this afternoon also.  Before Cindy and Hayden went home I got to move down the hall so I'm not in the middle of labor and delivery any longer.  My room is much bigger and so bright.  This is special because there was a mom in this room before me that had identical triplet boys and she was in here for weeks and made it to 32 weeks! Awesome!  I feel so very blessed to have so many loving friends and family come take time out of their busy schedules to come visit us!  We are so blessed!

Day 3 in the hospital.  The Dr. came in with the results from my 24 hr urine and proteins haven't increased by very much so I am still considered to have mild preeclampcia.  Very exciting!  Casey stayed here last night and is going home tonight to spend some time with Hayden.

January 19, 2011

Today is my first full day in the hospital.  Casey stayed with me last night and Hayden had his first night away from mommy and daddy at Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Doug's house.  I woke up at 2:30am and couldn't go back to sleep.  I read, and I watched t.v. , but nothing worked, so at 6am I started my day.  I ordered my breakfast; not much to choose from here.  The nurse came in and took my BP and it was good and temperature was good.  My nurse is very nice and funny. She hooked the babies up to the fetal monitors and did a non-stress test on the babies to make sure they had strong heartbeats and good accelerations.  They all looked great.  Grandma Nancy had Hayden today.  So, Hayden and Grandma came and visited us up here today!  He did great!  Dr. P came in today and checked my swelling and previous BP's for the day and said I was doing great and I would be here at the hospital until the babies arrived.  Tonight Hayden stayed with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Nancy at their house.  Before I went to bed, the night nurse hooked me back up to the fetal monitor and did another non-stress test on the babies and they all looked great again!  What an amazing thing to experience, three different fetal monitors with three different strong heartbeats!

January 18, 2011

Grandma Cindy came out to the house today to help me since I'm on bedrest and help with Hayden.  So, I called Dr. P as soon as they opened at 8:30am and his nurse said he wanted to see me today as soon as possible.  So Grandpa Bob took off work early and we dropped off Hayden with him and Grandma Cindy took me up to the Dr.'s office.  When we got there they did an ultrasound and checked the baby's heartbeats, checked the amount of fluid in their sacs and checked to see if they were using their diaphragms to start trying to breathe on there own.  Everything looked great with the babies.  He had the results from my 24 hour urine test and it was 406 which meant that I have mild preeclampsia!  So, since my blood pressure was fluctuating so much at home and I have preeclampsia and I am pregnant with triplets he wanted to admit me to the hospital until the babies are born so that they can monitor me very closely and hopefully keep the preeclampsia under control so we can keep the babies inside until hopefully 34 to 36 weeks.  So, Grandma Cindy and I went to the hospital and I was admitted on to the labor and delivery floor for close observation.  Casey left work early and went home to get me some things I needed... clothes for Hayden and clothes for him.  Casey picked up big brother Hayden from Grandpa Bob's house and picked up Grandpa Doug and they were on their way up to the hospital to see us.  Casey stayed with me tonight and Hayden spent his first night away from mommy and daddy at Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Doug's house.  I was a wreck but Hayden was excited!  I never was able to prepare myself for the fact that at one point during this pregnancy I would have to be away from Hayden for a period of time.  I just keep looking at the amazing outcome (three beautiful babies to complete our family)!

January 17, 2011

Today I'm 29 weeks pregnant.  Grandma Nancy came out to the house today to help with Hayden, take care of me in bed and do house work to help Casey out.  Tonight when Casey got home from work and Hayden fell asleep Casey took my blood pressure and it was 160 over 100.   So because it was so high we had to call up at the NW Perinatal Center and talk to the Dr. that was on call.  He said I was fine for the night but I had to call first thing in the morning and let Dr. P know what was going on.

January 16, 2011

Casey started his new job on another floor today.  He did great and is working with great people and a really nice manager.  Grandma Nancy came over to the house to help me with Hayden today and took me to their house so I could lay on the couch and Hayden could play outside with Grandma and Grandpa.

January 14, 2011

Casey and big brother Hayden took wonderful care of me in bed on Friday and Saturday.  This bedrest is so hard for me to do!  It is so hard to stay in bed when Casey is running around trying to pick up the house, do laundry, cook for us and play/take care of Hayden.  But, I know that bedrest will help keep the babies in there longer, which means less time in the NICU!

January 13, 2011

Grandma Cindy took me up to Dr. P's office for my checkup appointment today.  My blood pressure was down from Monday which was a great thing and he sent my urine of to be tested at the lab.  He told me if I get blood pressures (Casey takes them manually 2x a day at home) of 160 top number (systolic) or 100 bottom (diastolic) number to call asap. We had another appointment scheduled for next week on Wednesday.

January 10, 2011

Today marked a big milestone, 28 weeks!  My ribs hurt so badly from falling on Friday that I was having a hard time moving around.  So I called Dr. P and he wanted me to come up today so he could check the babies and my ribs just to be safe.  Grandpa Doug got blown out today and couldn't work so Hayden and Grandpa Doug brought me up to Dr. P's office.  When we got there they hooked me up to the monitor to make sure I wasn't having any contractions and I wasn't (wahoo).  Then we did an ultrasound to check the heartbeats and babies to make sure all was going well with all three babies!  Grandpa Doug and big brother Hayden got to see the babies on the ultrasound screen, it was so cool they got to see that!  So we went back to the room to see Dr. P and he said the babies checked out great but he wanted to check my blood pressure and check my cervix to make sure my cervix hadn't shortened.  Cervix looked great still, closed and long.  Blood pressure was 160 over 84 which wasn't good!  He checked it again about 20 minutes later and it hadn't changed much so he put me on bedrest at home and I was to start a 24 hour urine test.  I was instructed to start it on Wednesday and bring it up on Thursday for my next check up appointment.  The dreaded bedrest had started,L oh well, at least I could be on bedrest at home!

Still on bedrest and Hayden loves cuddling with mommy's triplet tummy!

27 weeks pregnant!  Tonight we got home from celebrating Grandpa Doug's birthday at Katie and Kyle's house.  When I walked in the garage I slipped on the floor because my feet were wet from the rain and fell on my front side and caught myself so I didn’t hurt by belly but did hurt my ribsL  I called the NW Perinatal Center and talked with Dr. P and he said to make sure the babies were moving and if I had any pain over the weekend to call.  He wasn't concerned at all about the babies (which was a big relief for me, I was panicked)!

This was 27 weeks 4 days and on bedrest at home.
Hayden loves snuggling with his brothers and sister already!

This was our 28 week ultrasound!

December 5, 2010

Today was a very big day for Aunt Katie and Uncle Kyle they became parents!  Baby Olivia Marie Olson was born this morning at 4:31am this morning at Salem Hospital.  She weighed 7 pounds and was 18.5 inches long.  Hayden has a new baby cousin!

This is at 24 weeks 3 days and Hayden was helping daddy when he took mommy's blood pressure.

This is at 24 weeks 5 days and we took Hayden to "Storybook Land."

November 30, 2010

I am 22 weeks pregnant today!  When I woke up this morning I was having pain in my lower stomach, it was tightening and loosening pain (I was very nervous, I thought these may be contractions).  I called my Dr.'s office and told them how I was feeling.  They wanted to see us today as soon as we could get up there.  They hooked me up to the monitors to check for contractions for 30 minutes and nothing showed up (Yippee)!  They did a quick ultrasound and checked all three baby's heartbeats and checked my cervix.  Babies looked great and my cervix was still measuring very long 37mm ( which is really good).  So we were sent home smiling with good news!

November 21, 2010

Casey felt all three babies move for the first time this morning while we were in church.  What a great place to be when something so amazing like that happens!

This is at 19 weeks 5 days

This is Thanksgiving morning and trying on her "Belly Band" that I (Casey) got her.

September 1, 2010

I am now 10 weeks pregnant.  Today we made the trip up to Portland to the NW Perinatal Center where we were scheduled to meet with Dr. M.  We had an ultrasound, they took baseline blood testing and we had a comprehensive exam with Dr. M.  This was a very exciting appointment for us, but scary as well.  He had to tell us all the statistics about the chances of losing a baby and that this was a high risk pregnancy! But, so far everything checked out great and all three babies were growing wonderfully.

Hayden loves kissing mommy's belly!

This is at 15 weeks pregnant

August 23 2010 Today we found out amazing yet life changing news!

We knew we were pregnant and about 9 weeks along and were scheduled for our first ultrasound at 12 weeks.  But, I was havng some wierd things going on (besides me wondering why I was already showing and so extremely sick) so the Dr. had me get an ultrasound and see how things looked.  Casey took off work and met me at the radiology clinic.  The ultrasound tech started the ultrasound and Casey and I looked at eachvother in awe when we saw three sacs on the ultrasound.  The tech confirmed that there are three different babies and all three heartbeats were there and strong.  She stepped out of the room for a bit to let us collect our thoughts (if you could only image the shock that was on our faces! ) We really didn't know what to say, we were excited but scared!  When she finished the ultrasound we had to wait in the waiting room unitl we got to talk to my Dr. over the phone.  My Dr. was just as shocked as I was, but he said that since I have triplets its important to be under the care of an perinatologist since they deal with multiples and high risk pregnancies daily.  So, we were going to meet our new Dr. in a week or so (kinda scary).
Hayden was at Grandma Cindy's.  When we got there, Aunt Katie and Great-Grandma Gescher were there as well.  Ashley came home from work and we told her too.  So, we had them all sit down and showed them the ultrasound..... and their jaws dropped!!! They were excited!  Grandma Nancy left work at lunch and we showed her the ultrasound, and she was shocked, but excited!  We called Grandpa Doug, Grandpa Bob, and Amy first and then the rest of the family!  Many of them didn't believe us at first, but after the initial shock we received lots of offers to help; and support.  We are so blessed!
